Beacon churches is a family of churches that love the Lord and believe the Word. Many of these churches participate in denominations like American Baptists or National Baptists, or Cooperative Baptists. Many churches are not in any way affiliated with a denomination at all.
Beacon churches has begun through the efforts of several pastors and lay people who desire to see something positive accomplished for the Kingdom of God. We are committed to not having a fight with anyone. We are here to live out the mission of Jesus Christ together.
What we share is a sense that we are not called to go it alone. We support each other's mission in ways that have integrity for our own church. While we do not agree on every issue, there will be no compromise of our core values. We invite you to read them. There is a tab on the home page to take you there or click on the link above.
You will occasionally see adresses to send mission support. Those adresses may include an organization in your denomination, but it will never include the National Denomination. We believe in supporting mission at the local level. This means that a denomination, (in our opinion), should serve the churches, not the other way around. When a denominational structure violates its congregation's core values, we are here to help that congregation live out its life in faithful community. We do not require that you abandon your denomination to participate in this expression of Christian family.
